When death drew near to Abu Dharr, she wept. He asked, "What makes you weep?"She replied, "Why should I not weep? You are dying in a deserted land, I have no means to bury you, and I have no garment large enough to serve as your shroud."He said, "Do not weep, but rejoice. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'No two Muslim spouses lose two or three children and bear it patiently, seeking reward from Allah, except that they will never enter the Fire.' And I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'A man among you will surely die in a deserted land, witnessed by a band of believers.' Not one of those present at that gathering remains who has not died in a town or among a community, and I am the one who is dying in a deserted land. By Allah, I have not lied, nor have I been lied to."
حدثنا إسحاق بن عيسى حدثني يحيى بن سليم عن عبد الله بن عثمان عن مجاهد عن إبراهيم بن الأشتر عن أبيه
لما حضرت أبا ذر الوفاة قالت بكيت فقال ما يبكيك قالت وما لي لا أبكي وأنت تموت بفلاة من الأرض ولا يد لي بدفنك وليس عندي ثوب يسعك فأكفنك فيه قال فلا تبكي وأبشري فإني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول لا يموت بين امرأين مسلمين ولدان أو ثلاثة فيصبران أو يحتسبان فيردان النار أبدا وإني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول ليموتن رجل منكم بفلاة من الأرض يشهده عصابة من المؤمنين وليس من أولئك النفر أحد إلا وقد مات في قرية أو جماعة وإني أنا الذي أموت بفلاة والله ما كذبت ولا كذبت
