The Messenger of Allah ﷺ designated Dhul-Hulayfa as the place of ihram for the people of Medina, Juhfa for the people of Sham, Yalamlam for the people of Yemen, and Qarn for the people of Najd. He said, "These are the designated points for the people of those regions, and for anyone passing through them from elsewhere intending to perform Hajj or Umra. Whoever lives closer to Mecca than the miqat enters ihram from where he sets out, and likewise even the people of Mecca enter ihram from where they set out."
حدثنا يزيد أخبرنا حماد بن زيد عن عمرو بن دينار عن طاوس
وقت رسول الله ﷺ لأهل المدينة ذا الحليفة ولأهل الشام الجحفة ولأهل اليمن يلملم ولأهل نجد قرنا وقال هن وقت لأهلهن ولمن مر بهن من غير أهلهن يريد الحج والعمرة فمن كان منزله من وراء الميقات فإهلاله من حيث ينشئ وكذلك حتى أهل مكة إهلالهم من حيث ينشئون
