Ubayy bin Kaab reported,

Regarding His statement , "He is the One able to send punishment upon you from above you" [Anam 6:65], Ali said, "These are four, and all of them are punishments, and all of them will inevitably come to pass. Two of them came to pass twenty-five years after the death of the Prophet ﷺ, for they were divided into sects and made to taste the violence of one another. The remaining two will inevitably come to pass, the swallowing up by the earth and the pelting with stones."

في قوله تبارك وتعالى {هو القادر على أن يبعث عليكم عذابا من فوقكم} الآية قال هن أربع وكلهن عذاب وكلهن واقع لا محالة فمضت اثنتان بعد وفاة النبي ﷺ بخمس وعشرين سنة فألبسوا شيعا وذاق بعضهم بأس بعض وثنتان واقعتان لا محالة الخسف والرجم
