Ubayy bin Kaab reported,

There was a man who used to come to the prayer. Someone said to him, "If only you got yourself a donkey to protect you from the scorching heat, the thorns, and stumbling."Shuba mentioned a fourth thing as well.The man replied, "By Allah, I would not want my house to be next to the house of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."This was mentioned to the Prophet ﷺ, who said, "You shall have what you intended," or he said, "You shall have the reward of what you intended."It is Shuba who says that.

عن أبي بن كعب قال

كان رجل يأتي الصلاة فقيل له لو اتخذت حمارا يقيك الرمضاء والشوك والوقع قال شعبة وذكر رابعة قال محلوفة ما أحب أن طنبي بطنب رسول الله ﷺ فذكر ذلك للنبي ﷺ فقال لك ما نويت أو قال لك أجر ما نويت شعبة يقول ذلك
