A man came to Umar and said, "Famine has consumed us." Masaar said this means the year of drought.Umar asked him, "Who are you from?" and kept tracing his lineage until he recognized him, and it turned out he was Musa.Umar said, "If a man had a valley or two valleys, he would seek a third."Ibn Abbas said, "And nothing fills the belly of the son of Adam except dust, then Allah relents toward whoever repents."Umar said to Ibn Abbas, "From whom did you hear this?"He replied, "From Ubayy."Umar said, "When morning comes, come to me."Ibn Abbas returned to Umm Fadl and mentioned this to her. She said, "What business do you have with talking in front of Umar?" And Ibn Abbas feared that Ubayy might have forgotten. His mother said, "Perhaps Ubayy has not forgotten."So in the morning he went to Umar, who had his whip with him, and we set off to Ubayy. Ubayy came out to them having just performed ablution and said, "Some prostatic fluid came from me, so I washed my male organ," or he said "my private part" (Masaar was uncertain).Umar asked, "Does that suffice?"He said, "Yes."Umar asked, "Did you hear that from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"He said, "Yes."Then Umar asked him about what Ibn Abbas had reported, and he confirmed it.
