The Prophet ﷺ included among his sacrificial camels a camel that had belonged to Abu Jahl, with a silver nose-ring.
حدثنا وكيع حدثنا سفيان عن ابن أبي ليلى عن الحكم عن مقسم
أن النبي ﷺ أهدى في بدنه جملا كان لأبي جهل برته فضة
Its isnad is hasan. Sufyan is Thawri. Ibn Abu Layla is Muhammad bin Abdul-Rahman. It will come again at 2362 at greater length with another sahih isnad. This sacrificial animal was during the Umrah of Hudaybiya, and the camel was among what the Muslims had taken as spoils from the polytheists on the day of Badr. The burah, with the ba pronounced with a "u" sound and the ra with a light "a" sound, is a ring placed in the flesh of the nose. See also 2362, 2428, 2466.
