Abdullah bin Abbas reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Jibreel , "Why do you not visit us more often than you do?"Then this verse was revealed, "And we do not descend except by the command of your Lord. To Him belongs what is before us and what is behind us" [Maryam 19:64], to the end of the verse.

حدثنا وكيع حدثنا ابن ذر عن أبيه عن سعيد بن جبير

عن ابن عباس قال

قال رسول الله ﷺ لجبريل عليه السلام ألا تزورنا أكثر مما تزورنا فنزلت {وما نتنزل إلا بأمر ربك له ما بين أيدينا وما خلفنا} إلى آخر الآية
