The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed the prayer of fear at Dhu Qarad, a place in the territory of Banu Sulaym. The people lined up behind him in two rows, one row facing the enemy and another row behind him. He led the row nearest to him in one rak'ah, then those in the front row moved back to take the position of those in the rear, and those in the rear moved forward to take the position of the front row, and he led them in another rak'ah.

صلى رسول الله ﷺ صلاة الخوف بذي قرد أرض من أرض بني سليم فصف الناس خلفه صفين صف موازي العدو وصف خلفه فصلى بالصف الذي يليه ركعة ثم نكص هؤلاء إلى مصاف هؤلاء وهؤلاء إلى مصاف هؤلاء فصلى بهم ركعة أخرى
Its isnad is sahih. Abu Bakr bin Abu Jahm bin Sukhayr is trustworthy, Ibn Main deemed him trustworthy, and Ibn Hibban mentioned him in al-Thiqat. Shubah narrated from him, and Bukhari gave him a biography in al-Kuna, number 92, without mentioning any criticism of him.In (h) it occurs as "from Ibn Abu Bakr," with the addition of "Ibn" being an error, we have corrected it from (k). He is given a biography in al-Tahdhib under the name Abu Bakr bin Abdullah bin Abu Jahm, following Ibn Abu Hatim, and this too, in my view, is an error. The correct form is what appears here, which agrees with Bukhari.The hadith was narrated by Nasai (1:228) by way of Yahya bin Saeed, from Sufyan. See al-Muntaqa, 1708.Dhu Qarad, with a fatha on the qaf and the ra, is a water source two nights' journey from Madinah, lying between it and Khaybar.
