When the verse "And warn your closest kin" [Shuara 26:214] was revealed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ climbed up a slope on a mountain with a rock at its summit and began to call out, "Sons of Abd Manaf, I am only a warner. My example and yours is like that of a man who saw the enemy approaching and went to scout for his family, fearing they would overtake him, so he began to call out and cry, 'A morning raid!'"

لما نزلت {وأنذر عشيرتك الأقربين} صعد رسول الله ﷺ رقمة من جبل على أعلاها حجر فجعل ينادي يا بني عبد مناف إنما أنا نذير إنما مثلي ومثلكم كرجل رأى العدو فذهب يربأ أهله فخشي أن يسبقوه فجعل ينادي ويهتف يا صباحاه
