When the verse "And warn your nearest kindred" [Shuara 26:214] was revealed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ climbed a rise on a mountain, at the top of which was a rock, and began to call out, "Sons of Abd Manaf, I am only a warner. My case and yours is like that of a man who saw the enemy and went to keep watch for his people, then feared that the enemy would reach them before him, so he began to shout and cry out, 'Danger at dawn!'"
