A man reported,

I was in a gathering in Madinah at which Umar bin Khattab was present. Umar asked one of those sitting with him, "How did you hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ describe it?"The man replied, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Islam began as a young camel in its second year, then in its third, then its fourth, then its sixth, and then a fully mature camel.'"Umar said, "After full maturity there is nothing but decline."

حدثنا روح حدثنا عوف عن علقمة بن عبد الله المزني قال

حدثني رجل قال

كنت في مجلس فيه عمر بن الخطاب بالمدينة فقال عمر رضي الله عنه لرجل من جلسائه كيف سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول قال سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول إن الإسلام بدأ جذعا ثم ثنيا ثم رباعيا ثم سداسيا ثم بازلا قال فقال عمر فما بعد البزول إلا النقصان
