The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me to Bahrayn, or to the people of Hajar, Abu Hamza was uncertain which. He said, "I would come to an orchard shared between brothers, one of whom had embraced Islam, so I would take a tenth from the Muslim and the kharaj from the other."
حدثنا عبد الله حدثني أبي ويحيى بن معين قالا حدثنا عتاب بن زياد حدثنا أبو حمزة قال سمعت المغيرة الأزدي عن محمد بن زيد عن حيان الأعرج
بعثني رسول الله ﷺ إلى البحرين أو أهل هجر شك أبو حمزة قال وكنت آتي الحائط يكون بين الإخوة فيسلم أحدهم فآخذ من المسلم العشر ومن الآخر الخراج
Its chain is daif because of Mughira Azdi and Muhammad bin Zayd, for they have been described as majhul (unknown narrators).The hadith was narrated by Ibn Majah, 1/586, no. 1831, in the chapter on zakat, tithes and land tax, through Abu Hamza from him. In the Zawaid he said, Mughira Azdi and Muhammad bin Zayd are majhul, and Hayan Araj, even though Ibn Main deemed him reliable and Ibn Hibban counted him among the trustworthy narrators, his narration from Ala is mursal. End of note.It was also narrated by Hakim in Mustadrak, 3/636, and both he and Dhahabi remained silent about it. This hadith is one of the Zawaid.
