When Ziyad's lineage was claimed, I met Abu Bakra and said to him, "What is this that you people have done? I heard Saad bin Abu Waqqas say, 'My two ears heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, Whoever claims a father in Islam other than his real father, Paradise is forbidden to him.'"Abu Bakra replied, "I too heard it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."

لما ادعى زياد لقيت أبا بكرة فقلت ما هذا الذي صنعتم إني سمعت سعد بن أبي وقاص يقول سمعت أذناي من رسول الله ﷺ وهو يقول من ادعى أبا في الإسلام غير أبيه فالجنة عليه حرام فقال أبو بكرة وأنا سمعت من رسول الله ﷺ
