Abu Bakra reported,

The Prophet ﷺ mentioned a land called Basra, beside which is a river called Tigris, with many palm trees, where the descendants of Qantura will descend. The people will then split into three groups. One group will return to their roots and perish. Another group will look out only for themselves and fall into disbelief. The third group will place their offspring behind their backs and fight, and their slain will be martyrs. Allah will grant victory to those who remain.Yazid was once uncertain about it and said, "Basira, or Basra."

حدثنا يزيد بن هارون أخبرنا العوام حدثنا سعيد بن جمهان

عن ابن أبي بكرة عن أبيه قال

ذكر النبي ﷺ أرضا يقال لها البصرة إلى جنبها نهر يقال له دجلة ذو نخل كثير وينزل به بنو قنطوراء فيتفرق الناس ثلاث فرق فرقة تلحق بأصلها وهلكوا وفرقة تأخذ على أنفسها وكفروا وفرقة يجعلون ذراريهم خلف ظهورهم فيقاتلون قتلاهم شهداء يفتح الله تبارك وتعالى على بقيتهم وشك يزيد فيه مرة فقال البصيرة أو البصرة
