Its chain of transmission is sahih. Mualla bin Ziyad Firdausi is trustworthy, and his hadith appears in Muslim and elsewhere. Muslim narrated it, 4/2268, no. 2948, in the Book of Tribulations, chapter on worship during turmoil, and Tirmidhi, 4/489, no. 2201, saying it is hasan sahih, similarly, and Ibn Majah, 2/1319, no. 3985.
