I asked Maqil bin Yasar about drinks. He said, "We were in Medina, where dates were abundant, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us from fadikh."A man came to him and asked about his elderly mother, saying, "May I give her nabidh to drink, for she does not eat food?"Maqil forbade him from doing so.

Its isnad is sahih. Muthanna bin Awf Anazi was deemed trustworthy by Ibn Main, and Abu Hatim and Abu Zura approved of him. Abu Abdullah Jusri is Humayri bin Bashir, a well-known trustworthy narrator, whose hadith appears in Muslim and the four Sunan.
