A man from the Ansar freed six slaves at the time of his death, and he had no other property besides them. News of this reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he spoke harshly about it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then called for the slaves and drew lots among them, freeing two and returning the other four to slavery.
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن قتادة عن الحسن
أن رجلا من الأنصار أعتق رءوسا ستة عند موته ولم يكن له مال غيرهم فبلغ ذلك رسول الله ﷺ فأغلظ له فدعا بهم رسول الله ﷺ فأقرع بينهم فأعتق اثنين ورد أربعة في الرق
