Hayaj bin Imran came to Imran bin Husayn and said, "My father has vowed that if he gets hold of his runaway slave, he will cut off a piece of him or cut off his hand."Imran replied, "Tell your father to make expiation for his oath and not cut any piece off the slave, for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to urge people in his sermons to give charity and forbid mutilation."Then Hayaj went to Samura bin Jundab, who told him the same thing.
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا سعيد عن قتادة
أن هياج بن عمران أتى عمران بن حصين فقال إن أبي قد نذر لئن قدر على غلامه ليقطعن منه طابقا أو ليقطعن يده فقال قل لأبيك يكفر عن يمينه ولا يقطع منه طابقا فإن رسول الله ﷺ كان يحث في خطبته على الصدقة وينهى عن المثلة ثم أتى سمرة بن جندب فقال له مثل ذلك
