Abu Najeeh reported,

We laid siege with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to the fortress of Taif, or the palace of Taif. He said, "Whoever delivers an arrow in the cause of Allah will have a degree in Paradise." That day, I delivered sixteen arrows.He also said, "Whoever shoots an arrow in the cause of Allah , it counts for him as the freeing of a slave. Whoever turns gray in the cause of Allah , it will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection. Any man who frees a Muslim man, Allah will make every bone of his a shield against the Fire in place of every bone of the one he freed. And any Muslim woman who frees a Muslim woman, Allah will make every bone of hers a shield against the Fire in place of every bone of the one she freed."

عن أبي نجيح السلمي قال

حاصرنا مع رسول الله ﷺ حصن الطائف أو قصر الطائف فقال من بلغ بسهم في سبيل الله عز وجل فله درجة في الجنة فبلغت يومئذ ستة عشر سهما ومن رمى بسهم في سبيل الله عز وجل فهو له عدل محرر ومن أصابه شيب في سبيل الله عز وجل فهو له نور يوم القيامة وأيما رجل أعتق رجلا مسلما جعل الله عز وجل وقاء كل عظم من عظامه عظما من عظام محرره من النار وأيما امرأة مسلمة أعتقت امرأة مسلمة فإن الله عز وجل جاعل وقاء كل عظم من عظامها عظما من عظام محررها من النار
