We laid siege with the Prophet ﷺ to the fortress of Taif, and I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever shoots an arrow in the path of Allah and it reaches its mark, he will have a rank in Paradise."A man asked, "Prophet of Allah, if I shoot and hit the mark, will I have a rank in Paradise?"He replied, "Yes."So the man shot and hit his mark. He said, "I hit the mark sixteen times that day," and he mentioned the rest of the meaning.
حدثنا عبد الوهاب عن سعيد عن قتادة عن سالم بن أبي الجعد الغطفاني عن معدان بن أبي طلحة اليعمري
حاصرنا مع النبي ﷺ حصن الطائف فسمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول من رمى بسهم في سبيل الله فبلغه فله درجة في الجنة فقال رجل يا نبي الله إن رميت فبلغت فلي درجة في الجنة قال فرمى فبلغ قال فبلغت يومئذ ستة عشر سهما فذكر معناه
