Adi bin Hatim reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is not one of you but Allah will speak to him, with no interpreter between them. He will then look to his right and see nothing but the deeds he sent forth. He will look to his left and see nothing but the deeds he sent forth. Then he will look in front of him, and the Fire will be facing him."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "Whoever among you is able to shield his face from the Fire, even with half a date, let him do so."

حدثنا أبو معاوية حدثنا الأعمش عن خيثمة

عن عدي بن حاتم قال

قال رسول الله ﷺ ما منكم من أحد إلا سيكلمه الله عز وجل ليس بينه وبينه ترجمان ثم ينظر أيمن منه فلا يرى إلا شيئا قدمه ثم ينظر أشأم منه فلا يرى إلا شيئا قدمه ثم ينظر تلقاء وجهه فتستقبله النار قال فقال رسول الله ﷺ من استطاع منكم أن يقي وجهه النار ولو بشق تمرة فليفعل
