Adi bin Hatim reported,

He asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "I send the trained dog and it catches the game."He said, "When you send your trained dog and mention the name of Allah , and it catches the game, then eat."I said, "Even if it kills it?"He said, "Even if it kills it."I said, "I shoot with the featherless arrow."He said, "If it strikes with its sharp edge, then eat. But if it strikes with its broad side, do not eat."

أنه سأل رسول الله ﷺ فقال أرسل الكلب المعلم فيأخذ قال إذا أرسلت كلبك المعلم وذكرت اسم الله عز وجل فأخذ فكل قلت وإن قتل قال وإن قتل قال قلت أرمي بالمعراض قال إذا أصاب بحده فكل وإن أصاب بعرضه فلا تأكل
