Adi bin Hatim reported,

I said, "Messenger of Allah, my father used to maintain ties of kinship, host guests, and do such and such."He replied, "Your father sought something and attained it."I said, "Messenger of Allah, I shoot game but find nothing to slaughter it with except a sharp stone or a stick."He said, "Make the blood flow with whatever you wish, and mention the name of Allah ."I said, "There is food I avoid only out of scruple."He replied, "Whatever resembles a Christian practice, leave it."

عن عدي بن حاتم قال

قلت يا رسول الله إن أبي كان يصل الرحم ويقري الضيف ويفعل كذا قال إن أباك أراد شيئا فأدركه قال قلت يا رسول الله أرمي الصيد ولا أجد ما أذكيه به إلا المروة والعصا قال أمر الدم بما شئت ثم اذكر اسم الله عز وجل قلت طعام ما أدعه إلا تحرجا قال ما ضارعت فيه نصرانية فلا فدعه
