We fought alongside the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in seven military campaigns, during which we ate Jarad.
حدثنا وكيع حدثنا سفيان عن أبي يعفور العبدي قال سمعت
غزونا مع رسول الله ﷺ سبع غزوات فكنا نأكل فيها الجراد
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Abu Yafur Abdi is Waqid bin Muhammad. Ibn Saad said, "He was trustworthy, Allah willing." The hadith was narrated by Bukhari 9/220, no. 5495, Fath al-Bari, in the Book of Slaughtered Animals, chapter on eating locusts, and Muslim 3/1546, no. 1952, in the Book of Hunting, chapter on the permissibility of locusts, and Abu Dawud 3/357, no. 3812, and Nasai 7/210, no. 4356.
