We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when a necklace belonging to Ayesha was lost. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stayed in place until the dawn lit up, and Abu Bakr became furious with Ayesha. Then the dispensation permitting tayammum with clean earth was revealed to them. Abu Bakr came in to her and said, "Truly you are blessed. A dispensation has been revealed concerning you." So we struck the ground with our hands and wiped our faces, then struck the ground once more and wiped up to the shoulders and underarms.

كنا مع رسول الله ﷺ هلك عقد لعائشة فأقام رسول الله ﷺ حتى أضاء الفجر فتغيظ أبو بكر على عائشة فنزلت عليهم الرخصة في المسح بالصعدات فدخل عليها أبو بكر فقال إنك لمباركة لقد نزل علينا فيك رخصة فضربنا بأيدينا إلى وجوهنا وضربنا بأيدينا ضربة إلى المناكب والآباط
