The Prophet's ﷺ zakat collector came to us. I sat with him and heard him say, "My instructions are that I am not to take a milking animal still nursing its young, nor combine separate herds, nor separate combined ones."A man brought him a large-humped she-camel and said, "Take it." But he refused to accept it.
حدثنا هشيم أنبأنا هلال بن خباب قال حدثني ميسرة أبو صالح
أتانا مصدق النبي ﷺ قال فجلست إليه فسمعته وهو يقول إن في عهدي أن لا آخذ من راضع لبن ولا يجمع بين متفرق ولا يفرق بين مجتمع وأتاه رجل بناقة كوماء فقال خذها فأبى أن يأخذها
Its chain of transmission is hasan. Hilal bin Khabab was truthful but his memory changed, and Maysara Abu Salih Kindi is acceptable. As for Suwayd bin Ghafla, he is among the senior trustworthy Followers.The hadith was reported by Abu Dawud 2/102, no. 1580, Nasai 5/30, no. 2457, and Ibn Majah 1/576, no. 1801.
