When this verse was revealed, "And Allah has preferred the mujahideen over those who remain behind with a great reward" [Nisa 4:95], Ibn Umm Maktum came to him and said, "Messenger of Allah, what do you command me to do? I am blind."Then the words "except those who have an injury" [Nisa 4:95] were revealed.The Prophet ﷺ said, "Bring me the shoulder-blade and the inkwell," or, "the tablet and the inkwell."
