Bara bin Azib reported,

An Arabi came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, teach me a deed that will admit me into Paradise."He replied, "Though you have made your speech brief, you have asked a vast question. Free a soul and ransom a slave."The man asked, "Messenger of Allah, are these not one and the same?"He said, "No. Freeing a soul means to free one on your own, while ransoming a slave means to assist in freeing one. Then there is the milch animal given generously, and showing kindness to the wrongdoing relative. If you cannot do that, then feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, command what is right, and forbid what is wrong. And if you cannot do that, then restrain your tongue from all but good."

عن البراء بن عازب قال

جاء أعرابي إلى النبي ﷺ فقال يا رسول الله علمني عملا يدخلني الجنة فقال لئن كنت أقصرت الخطبة لقد أعرضت المسألة أعتق النسمة وفك الرقبة فقال يا رسول الله أوليستا بواحدة قال لا إن عتق النسمة أن تفرد بعتقها وفك الرقبة أن تعين في عتقها والمنحة الوكوف والفيء على ذي الرحم الظالم فإن لم تطق ذلك فأطعم الجائع واسق الظمآن وأمر بالمعروف وانه عن المنكر فإن لم تطق ذلك فكف لسانك إلا من الخير
