Bara bin Azib reported,

The first of the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ companions to arrive in Madinah were Musab bin Umayr and Ibn Umm Maktum, and they used to teach the people the Quran. Then Bilal, Saad, and Ammar bin Yasir arrived. Then Umar bin Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, arrived along with twenty of the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ companions. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ himself arrived. I never saw the people of Madinah rejoice over anything as much as they rejoiced over the arrival of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, to the point that even the slave-girls were saying, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has arrived!"He did not arrive until I had already learned to recite "Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High" along with several surahs from the Mufassal section.
