Bara bin Azib reported,

When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ made peace with the people of Hudaybiyah, Ali wrote out the agreement between them. He wrote, "Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah."The polytheists objected, "Do not write 'Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah.' If you were the Messenger of Allah, we would not be fighting you."So he said to Ali, "Erase it."Ali replied, "I am not the one who will erase it."So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ erased it himself with his own hand. He made peace with them on the condition that he and his companions could enter Mecca for three days, and that they would only enter carrying their weapons in their sheaths.I asked, "What is julbban al-silah?"He answered, "The scabbard with whatever it contains."

حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن أبي إسحاق قال سمعت

البراء بن عازب يقول

لما صالح رسول الله ﷺ أهل الحديبية كتب علي رضي الله عنه كتابا بينهم وقال فكتب محمد رسول الله فقال المشركون لا تكتب محمد رسول الله ولو كنت رسول الله لم نقاتلك قال فقال لعلي امحه قال فقال ما أنا بالذي أمحاه فمحاه رسول الله ﷺ بيده قال وصالحهم على أن يدخل هو وأصحابه ثلاثة أيام ولا يدخلوها إلا بجلبان السلاح فسألت ما جلبان السلاح قال القراب بما فيه
