I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about game hunted with the miraad, and he said, "Do not eat it unless it pierces."
حدثنا وكيع حدثنا أبي عن منصور عن إبراهيم عن همام
سألت رسول الله ﷺ عن صيد المعراض فقال لا تأكل إلا أن يخزق
Its chain of transmission is sahih, its narrators being reliable and well known. Mansur is Ibn Mutamir, Ibrahim is Nakhai, and Hammam is Ibn Harith Nakhai. The hadith has appeared earlier in fuller wording at 18161, and see Sunan Ibn Majah 2/1072, no. 3215.
