Its chain of transmission is daif because of Yunus bin Harith Thaqafi Taifi. The majority declared him daif, and Ibn Adi accepted him, while Ibn Hibban considered him trustworthy. His weakness is minor, and the hadith has corroborating narrations. Abu Dawud narrated it through his route in 1/177, number 659, in the Book of Prayer, chapter on praying on a mat.
