I helped the Prophet ﷺ perform ablution during a journey. He washed his face and forearms, wiped his head, and wiped over his leather socks.I said, "Messenger of Allah, shall I not remove your socks?"He replied, "No, for I put them on while my feet were in a state of purity, and I have not walked barefoot since."Then he prayed the dawn prayer.

وضأت النبي ﷺ في سفر فغسل وجهه وذراعيه ومسح برأسه ومسح على خفيه فقلت يا رسول الله ألا أنزع خفيك قال لا إني أدخلتهما وهما طاهرتان ثم لم أمش حافيا بعد ثم صلى صلاة الصبح
