A man from the Ansar named Qarada bin Kaab died, and wailing was performed over him. Mughira bin Shuba went out, ascended the pulpit, praised Allah and extolled Him, then said, "What is this wailing in Islam? I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'A lie against me is not like a lie against anyone else. Whoever lies against me deliberately, let him take his seat in the Fire.' And I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever is wailed over will be punished for what is wailed over him.'"
