The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited Surah an-Najm in Makkah and prostrated, and those with him also prostrated. But I raised my head and refused to prostrate. Muttalib had not yet accepted Islam at that time. Afterwards, however, he would never hear anyone reciting this surah without prostrating along with them.
حدثنا إبراهيم بن خالد حدثنا رباح عن معمر عن ابن طاوس عن عكرمة بن خالد
قرأ رسول الله ﷺ بمكة سورة النجم فسجد وسجد من عنده فرفعت رأسي وأبيت أن أسجد ولم يكن أسلم يومئذ المطلب وكان بعد ذلك لا يسمع أحدا يقرأ بها إلا سجد معه
