Two disputants came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with a quarrel between them, and he said to Amr, "Judge between them, Amr."Amr replied, "You are more worthy of that than I am, Messenger of Allah."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Even so."Amr asked, "And if I judge between them, what do I get?"He answered, "If you judge between them and reach the correct ruling, you have ten good deeds, and if you exert your best effort and get it wrong, you have one good deed."In another wording, he said, "If you exert your best effort and reach the correct ruling, you have ten rewards, and if you exert your best effort and get it wrong, you have a single reward."
حدثنا هاشم قال ثنا الفرج عن ربيعة بن يزيد عن عقبة بن عامر عن النبي ﷺ مثله غير أنه قال فإن اجتهدت فأصبت القضاء فلك عشرة أجور وإن اجتهدت فأخطأت فلك أجر واحد
Its chain is daif because of Faraj, and the hadith is like the one before it. m17753 - Sulayman bin Harb and Hasan bin Musa told us, they said, Hammad bin Salama told us, from Abu Jafar Khatmi, from Umara bin Khuzayma bin Thabit, who said, we were with Amr bin As on a hajj or umrah journey, and when we reached Marr Zahran, there was a woman in her howdah who had placed her hand on the howdah. He said, he then entered the mountain pass and we entered it with him, and he said, we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in this very place, and we suddenly saw many crows, among them a crow that was white-footed with a red beak and legs, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "None of the women will enter Paradise except one like this crow among these crows."Hasan said, there was a woman with dye and rings on her hands, which she had placed there, but Hasan did not mention "at Marr Zahran." Sahih (m17753). Its chain is sahih, it was mentioned before at 17698.
