Two disputants came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ presenting their case.He said to Amr, "Judge between them, Amr."Amr replied, "You are more entitled to do so than I am, Messenger of Allah."He said, "Even so."Amr asked, "If I judge between them, what will I receive?"He said, "If you judge between them and reach the correct verdict, you will have ten rewards. And if you exert your effort but err, you will still have one reward."
حدثنا أبو النضر قال ثنا الفرج قال ثنا محمد بن عبد الأعلى عن أبيه عن عبد الله بن عمرو
جاء رسول الله ﷺ خصمان يختصمان فقال لعمرو اقض بينهما يا عمرو فقال أنت أولى بذلك مني يا رسول الله قال وإن كان قال فإذا قضيت بينهما فما لي قال إن أنت قضيت بينهما فأصبت القضاء فلك عشر حسنات وإن أنت اجتهدت فأخطأت فلك حسنة
Its isnad is daif because of Faraj bin Fadala, and the obscurity of Muhammad bin Abdul-Ala and his father. Haythami said in 4/195, "It contains someone I do not recognize." The hadith was narrated by Daraqutni in 4/203, and Hakim graded it sahih, but Dhahabi disagreed with him regarding Faraj in 4/88.
