A man asked, "Messenger of Allah, which deed is best?"He replied, "Faith in Allah, affirming Him as true, striving in the path of Allah, and an accepted pilgrimage."The man said, "You have given me much, Messenger of Allah."So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Then gentle speech, offering food, generosity, and good character."The man said, "I want a single word."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "Go, and never accuse Allah regarding what He has decreed for you."
حدثنا يحيى بن غيلان قال ثنا رشدين حدثني موسى بن علي عن أبيه
قال رجل يا رسول الله أي العمل أفضل قال إيمان بالله وتصديق وجهاد في سبيل الله وحج مبرور قال الرجل أكثرت يا رسول الله فقال رسول الله ﷺ فلين الكلام وبذل الطعام وسماح وحسن خلق قال الرجل أريد كلمة واحدة قال له رسول الله ﷺ اذهب فلا تتهم الله على نفسك
