The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "What distinguishes our fasting from the fasting of the People of the Book is the predawn meal."
حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مهدي حدثنا موسى عن أبيه عن أبي قيس مولى عمرو بن العاص
قال رسول الله ﷺ إن فصلا ما بين صيامنا وصيام أهل الكتاب أكلة السحر
Its isnad is sahih, its narrators are trustworthy and have already been mentioned, and Musa is Ibn Ali bin Rabah bin Qaysar Lakhmi. The hadith was reported by Muslim, 2/770, no. 1096, Abu Dawud, 2/757, no. 2343, Tirmidhi, 3/79, no. 708, Nasai, 4/146, no. 2166, Darimi, 2/11, no. 1697, and Bayhaqi, 4/236.
