The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent for me and said, "Put on your clothes and your weapons, then come to me."So I came to him while he was performing ablution. He looked me up and down, then said, "I intend to send you out in command of an army. Allah will keep you safe and grant you spoils, and I wish for you a generous share of wealth."I said, "Messenger of Allah, I did not embrace Islam for the sake of wealth. I embraced Islam out of desire for Islam itself and to be with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."He said, "Amr, how excellent is righteous wealth in the hands of a righteous man."
Its isnad is sahih, like the one before it. Bukhari narrated the hadith in Adab 113, no. 300, and Hakim graded it sahih 2/236, and Dhahabi agreed with him. Ibn Abu Shayba also narrated it 7/118, no. 2230.17692m - Abdullah bin Yazid narrated to us, he said, Musa narrated to us, I heard my father say, I heard Amr bin As say... and he mentioned it, and he said, "He looked upward intently." Sahih (17692m). Its isnad is sahih, and it is like the one before it.
