Abdul-Muttalib bin Rabia reported,

A group of the Ansar came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "We hear things from your own people, to the point that some of them say, 'Muhammad is nothing but a palm tree that grew on a dunghill.'" Husayn explained that kabaa means a refuse heap.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "People, who am I?"They replied, "You are the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."He said, "I am Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Abdul-Muttalib."The narrator said, We had never heard him trace his lineage like that before.He continued, "Allah created His creation and made me from the best of His creation. Then He divided them into two groups and placed me in the better of the two. Then He made them into tribes and placed me in the best of their tribes. Then He made them into households and placed me in the best of their households. So I am the best of you in household and the best of you in soul." ﷺ

حدثنا حسين بن محمد حدثنا يزيد بن عطاء عن يزيد عن عبد الله بن الحارث بن نوفل

عن عبد المطلب بن ربيعة بن الحارث بن عبد المطلب قال

أتى ناس من الأنصار النبي ﷺ فقالوا إنا لنسمع من قومك حتى يقول القائل منهم إنما مثل محمد مثل نخلة نبتت في كباء قال حسين الكباء الكناسة فقال رسول الله ﷺ أيها الناس من أنا قالوا أنت رسول الله ﷺ قال أنا محمد بن عبد الله بن عبد المطلب قال فما سمعناه قط ينتمي قبلها ألا إن الله عز وجل خلق خلقه فجعلني من خير خلقه ثم فرقهم فرقتين فجعلني من خير الفرقتين ثم جعلهم قبائل فجعلني من خيرهم قبيلة ثم جعلهم بيوتا فجعلني من خيرهم بيتا وأنا خيركم بيتا وخيركم نفسا ﷺ
