The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever finds a lost item should call upon two trustworthy witnesses, and should preserve its container and its tying-string. If its owner comes, he should not conceal it, and the owner has the better right to it. If its owner does not come, then it is the property of Allah, which He grants to whomever He wills."Abu Abdul-Rahman said, I asked Ubayy, "Some people say 'iqasaha' and others say 'ifasaha.'"He replied, "It is 'ifasaha,' with the letter fa."
حدثنا هشيم أخبرنا خالد عن يزيد بن عبد الله بن الشخير عن أخيه مطرف بن عبد الله بن الشخير
قال رسول الله ﷺ من وجد لقطة فليشهد ذوي عدل وليحفظ عفاصها ووكاءها فإن جاء صاحبها فلا يكتم وهو أحق بها وإن لم يجئ صاحبها فإنه مال الله يؤتيه من يشاء قال أبو عبد الرحمن قلت لأبي إن قوما يقولون عقاصها ويقولون عفاصها قال عفاصها بالفاء
