I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Every person will be in the shade of his charity until judgment is passed between people," or he said, "until people are judged."Yazid said, Abu Khayr never let a day pass without giving something in charity, even if it were just a cake, an onion, or the like.
حدثنا علي بن إسحاق أخبرنا عبد الله بن مبارك أخبرنا حرملة بن عمران أنه سمع يزيد بن أبي حبيب يحدث أن أبا الخير حدثه أنه سمع
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول كل امرئ في ظل صدقته حتى يفصل بين الناس أو قال يحكم بين الناس قال يزيد وكان أبو الخير لا يخطئه يوم إلا تصدق فيه بشيء ولو كعكة أو بصلة أو كذا
Its isnad is sahih, its narrators are trustworthy and have been mentioned before. The hadith was reported by Ibn Mubarak in al-Zuhd 227, no. 645, Ibn Hibban 209, no. 817 in al-Mawarid, and Ibn Khuzayma 4/94, no. 243. Hakim graded it sahih 1/416, and Dhahabi agreed with him. Abu Naeem also reported it in al-Hilya 8/181.
