I set out on a journey, and Uqba bin Amir was with us. We said to him, "May Allah have mercy on you, you are one of the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so lead us in prayer."He replied, "No. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever leads the people in prayer, observing the proper time and completing the prayer, the reward is for him and for them. But whoever falls short in any of that, the burden is upon him and not upon them.'"

خرجت في سفر ومعنا عقبة بن عامر قال فقلنا له إنك يرحمك الله من أصحاب رسول الله ﷺ فأمنا فقال لا إني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول من أم الناس فأصاب الوقت وأتم الصلاة فله ولهم ومن انتقص من ذلك شيئا فعليه ولا عليهم
