While I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, a Jewish man came to him and asked, "Muhammad, does this funeral bier speak?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Allah knows best."The Jewish man said, "I bear witness that it does speak."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "When the People of the Book tell you something, do not believe them and do not call them liars. Say instead, 'We believe in Allah, His Books, and His Messengers.' Then if what they said is true, you have not called them liars, and if it is false, you have not believed them."In another wording, he said, "and His Book and His Messengers."
حدثنا عثمان بن عمر قال حدثنا يونس عن الزهري قال أخبرني ابن أبي نملة أن أباه حدثه قال بينما أنا جالس عند رسول الله ﷺ جاءه رجل من اليهود فذكر مثله إلا أنه قال وكتابه ورسله
