A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, so-and-so prolongs the prayer with us so much that I hold back from joining."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ became angrier in giving an admonition than I had ever seen him before, then he said, "Among you are those who drive people away. Whoever leads people in prayer should make it brief, for behind him are the elderly, the sick, and those with needs to attend to."

أن رجلا أتى النبي ﷺ فقال يا رسول الله إن فلانا يطيل بنا الصلاة حتى إني لأتأخر فغضب رسول الله ﷺ غضبا ما رأيته غضب في موعظة فقال رسول الله ﷺ إن فيكم منفرين فمن أم قوما فليخفف بهم الصلاة فإن وراءه الكبير والمريض وذا الحاجة
