Salama bin Nufayl reported,

He informed them that he came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "I have grown weary of horses, I have laid down my weapons, and the war has put down its burdens. I thought there would be no more fighting."The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Now the fighting has come. A group of my Ummah will continue to prevail over people. Allah will turn the hearts of certain peoples astray so that they fight against them, and Allah will provide for my Ummah through them, until the command of Allah comes while they are still upon that. Indeed, the heartland of the believers is Sham, and goodness is tied to the forelocks of horses until the Day of Resurrection."

أخبرهم أنه أتى النبي ﷺ فقال إني سئمت الخيل وألقيت السلاح ووضعت الحرب أوزارها قلت لا قتال فقال له النبي ﷺ الآن جاء القتال لا تزال طائفة من أمتي ظاهرين على الناس يرفع الله قلوب أقوام فيقاتلونهم ويرزقهم الله منهم حتى يأتي أمر الله عز وجل وهم على ذلك ألا إن عقر دار المؤمنين الشام والخيل معقود في نواصيها الخير إلى يوم القيامة
