Abdul-Malik bin Umayr reported,

Umar bin Khattab appointed Abu Ubayda bin Jarra over Syria and dismissed Khalid bin Walid.Khalid bin Walid said, "He has sent over you the trustworthy one of this nation. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'The trustworthy one of this nation is Abu Ubayda bin Jarra.'"Abu Ubayda said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Khalid is a sword among the swords of Allah , and what an excellent young man of the tribe he is.'"

عن عبد الملك بن عمير قال

استعمل عمر بن الخطاب أبا عبيدة بن الجراح على الشام وعزل خالد بن الوليد قال فقال خالد بن الوليد بعث عليكم أمين هذه الأمة سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول أمين هذه الأمة أبو عبيدة بن الجراح قال أبو عبيدة سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول خالد سيف من سيوف الله عز وجل ونعم فتى العشيرة
