The two of them entered the house of Maymunah with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and a roasted lizard was brought in. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ reached out his hand toward it, but some of the women said, "Tell the Messenger of Allah ﷺ what he is about to eat."They said, "It is a lizard, Messenger of Allah."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ withdrew his hand.I asked, "Is it forbidden, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "No, but it is not found in the land of my people, so I find myself averse to it."Khalid said, "So I pulled it over and ate it while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ watched."
حدثنا روح حدثنا مالك عن ابن شهاب عن أبي أمامة بن سهل
أنهما دخلا مع رسول الله ﷺ بيت ميمونة فأتي بضب محنوذ فأهوى إليه رسول الله ﷺ فقال بعض النسوة أخبروا رسول الله ﷺ ما يريد أن يأكل فقالوا هو ضب يا رسول الله فرفع رسول الله ﷺ يده فقلت أحرام هو يا رسول الله قال لا ولكن لم يكن بأرض قومي فأجدني أعافه قال خالد فاجتررته فأكلته ورسول الله ﷺ ينظر
