I was with Abdullah bin Mughafal when a man from his people related a hadith in his presence and mentioned the report.Abu Abdul-Rahman said, Muamar made an error in this hadith, because Saeed bin Jubayr never met Abdullah bin Mughafal.

Its chain is sahih. Abdullah bin Ahmad said, it is disconnected, and Mamar erred in it, because Saeed bin Jubayr never met Abdullah bin Mughafal.I hold that the more correct view is the hadith of Mamar, and Saeed bin Jubayr's explicit statement that he was present with Abdullah bin Mughafal, since the narrator is a hafiz, namely Ayub Sakhtiyani. Furthermore, Abdullah bin Mughafal died in the year sixty, and at that time Saeed bin Jubayr's age was fourteen years, so it is not far-fetched that he would have come into his presence while still a young man. For Saeed was born in the year forty-six and died in the year ninety-five at the age of forty-nine, so this should not be considered unlikely. And Allah knows best.
